Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At present, a sharp increase in prices for AI-80 brand gasoline in Uzbekistan causes public discontent and is widely discussed on social networks. 

In particular, at gas stations owned by Uzbekneftegaz JSC in the city of Tashkent and the region, the cost of 1 liter of AI-80 gasoline is 6,800 soums, at private gas stations it is sold from 7,000 to 7,700 soums (or more expensive from 200 to 900 soums). 

In recent days, there has been an increase in demand for AI-80 gasoline, as the import of high-octane gasoline by importing enterprises is decreasing. 

If we compare the volume of gasoline supplied to consumers of the republic on 7 July with the corresponding reporting period, then the demand for it in the republic increased by 1,193 tons or 120%: in Andijan - by 222%, Tashkent region - by 163%, Jizzakh - by 155%, Kashkadarya - by 141%.

For example, if in June UNG Petro LLC sold 529 tons of gasoline per day on average, then by July the demand increased by an average of 611 tons per day, or 82 tons.

As a result of the growth in demand for AI-80 gasoline in July this year, the price of AI-80 gasoline for 1 ton formed at exchange auctions amounted to 9,366,000 soums.

This month, this figure amounted to 10,454,000 soums, which is 974,000 soums more than in June. This, in turn, led to an increase in prices for AI-80 gasoline sold by private filling stations.

As a result of the increase in volumes, which are currently put up for exchange trading, the average price of motor gasoline per 1 ton of AI-80 has been reduced to 9,484,000 soums.

65% of consumers are provided with gasoline produced by Uzbekneftegaz JSC, the rest is covered by other manufacturers and suppliers.

JSC "Uzbekneftegaz" put on exchange auctions gasoline AI-80 on 7 July - 4 thousand tons, on 8 July - 3 thousand tons, the gasoline production equipment of the Bukhara oil refinery operates at 110 percent capacity.
