Uzbekneftegaz and Schlumberger Review Joint Projects and Explore New Areas of Cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Abdugani Sanginov, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz, held a working meeting with Gökhan Yarım, Vice President of Projects at the American company Schlumberger, during which the parties discussed the current state of bilateral cooperation and the progress of ongoing joint initiatives.

According to the outcomes of the discussions, particular attention was given to prospects for additional geological exploration and field development at the “25 Years of Independence” oil field, as well as measures to improve the efficiency of projects already underway.

The parties reviewed technical and organizational aspects of further cooperation, taking into account the priorities for the development of the country’s oil and gas sector.

A significant part of the discussions focused on resolving an emergency situation at the mentioned field and the potential involvement of Schlumberger in carrying out the necessary work.

Representatives of the company informed the Uzbek side that previously submitted technical and commercial proposals would be revised to reflect the parameters discussed and resubmitted promptly for consideration.

During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of implementing advanced technologies, expanding the use of innovative solutions, and enhancing overall efficiency in oil and gas operations. According to the participants, employing modern approaches in exploration, development, and field management is a key condition for the sustainable growth of the sector.

At the conclusion of the talks, Abdugani Sanginov and Gökhan Yarım confirmed their mutual readiness to further develop the strategic partnership and expand technological cooperation, noting that deepening collaboration with Schlumberger will contribute to the modernization and long-term growth of Uzbekistan’s oil and gas industry.
