Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekiston Temir Yollari commented on information about the theft of 899 million soums during the construction of the Ring Line of the elevated metro.

Earlier, the transport prosecutor of Uzbekistan, Marufkhon Khodjaev, said that the theft in the amount of 899 million soums was revealed during the construction of the Circle Line of the elevated metro.

Uzbekiston Temir Yollari clarified that the funds were not embezzled. In July 2020, unknown persons stole cable products worth 899 million soums. Employees of Uzbekiston Temir Yollari are not involved in this theft.

The loss was found during inspection of the Dustilik-2 - Kuyuylyuk section. The corresponding application was submitted to the Main Directorate of Transport Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. A criminal case was initiated.

As a result of investigative measures, the perpetrators were found. Some goods worth 180.9 million soums were found in their possession.
