Uzbekistan’s Technological Metals Plant Exports Metallic Rhenium for the First Time
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Uzbek Technological Metals Plant (TMK) has carried out its first-ever export of metallic rhenium with a purity of 99.9%. The initial shipment of this strategic metal was sent to Estonia under a contract with VLCor Baltic OU.
In the first six months of 2025, TMK’s total export volume reached US$21.3 million, marking a 118% increase compared to the same period last year.
Rhenium is considered a strategically important metal, in high demand across advanced industries such as aerospace and the production of superalloys capable of withstanding extremely high temperatures.
