Uzbekistan’s Prosecutor General’s Office Receives Advanced IT Equipment
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The project “Digitalization of International Legal Cooperation Processes in Uzbekistan,” implemented by UNODC with support from the U.S. government, has taken a significant step toward modernizing the country’s digital judicial infrastructure.
The Prosecutor General’s Office of Uzbekistan received advanced IT equipment designed to accelerate the processing of Mutual Legal Assistance (MLA) requests, enhance monitoring, and enable structured data analysis.
Deputy Prosecutor General Svetlana Artykova emphasized the importance of the initiative: “Criminals operate without bureaucracy or borders. To stay ahead, rapid coordination and proactive cooperation are essential.”
U.S. Ambassador Jonathan Henick highlighted the strategic nature of the partnership and the need for judicial reform to establish an effective rule-of-law system.
UNODC Regional Representative Oliver Stölpe noted that the equipment delivery marks a key milestone in Uzbekistan’s digital transformation of judicial cooperation. The new tools will also strengthen Uzbekistan’s role in the Central Asia–South Caucasus Judicial Cooperation Network (CASC Network), optimizing regional information exchange and improving the efficiency of cross-border collaboration.
