Uzbekistan’s new ambassador presents credentials to the President of the Czech Republic

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  On 13 December, Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary with residence in Berlin, Dilshod Akhatov, presented his credentials to the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, according to Dunyo News Agency.

The ceremony took place at the official residence of the Czech President, Prague Castle. In honor of the Uzbek ambassador, a guard of honor was arranged, the state flag of Uzbekistan was raised, and the national anthem was played.

During the conversation following the ceremony, President Petr Pavel emphasized that Uzbekistan is a key partner for the Czech Republic on the international stage. He expressed Prague’s keen interest in further strengthening its cooperation with Tashkent.

The Czech President highlighted the active development of political relations between the two countries, referencing the talks held between Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala on November 13 in Baku, as well as the visit of Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský to Uzbekistan on October 21-22. According to Pavel, these events have laid a solid foundation for continued high-level dialogue.

President Pavel also underscored the potential for cooperation in areas such as transportation, engineering, energy, and healthcare. He noted the importance of strengthening ties in multilateral formats and highlighted the joint work under the European Union’s "Global Gateway" strategy aimed at fostering interregional economic connections.

In conclusion, the Czech leader extended his best wishes for success and prosperity to the people and leadership of Uzbekistan.

It is worth noting that in October 2023, Dilshod Akhatov presented his credentials to Germany’s Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier. The Uzbek ambassador is also accredited to Switzerland and the Czech Republic.
