Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Agriculture Monitors Cotton Seed Prices and Supply
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan addressed citizen inquiries received via social networks, Telegram, and Facebook concerning prices and delivery schedules of imported cotton seeds.
The ministry emphasized that these matters are regulated based on presidential directives and existing legal acts.
Specifically, according to presidential decrees and the Cabinet of Ministers’ resolution dated 20 March 2025, the price of imported seeds must not exceed 45,000 soums per kilogram. The Cotton Growing Council has also secured guarantees from importers to comply with these requirements.
The ministry monitors regional reports and citizen complaints, identifying cases of seeds sold above the established price or delivered late. Administrative reviews are underway for each violation, with strict legal measures applied against offenders.
Additionally, control over timely seed delivery to farmers who have already made advance payments has been strengthened.
The ministry pledged continued monitoring of citizen and farmer appeals, ensuring that all justified cases are addressed in strict accordance with established procedures.
