Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies Discusses Prospects for Digital Cooperation with Finnish Ambassador
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, held a meeting with Ilkka Räisänen, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Finland to Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, a presentation was delivered outlining the activities of IT Park Uzbekistan, the achievements in IT service exports, and plans for their further development. Participants were also shown a video highlighting Finland’s digital transformation and the role of identification systems in the use of digital services.
The parties discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation, including Finland’s digital connectivity policies and developments in Central Asia, the improvement of the regulatory framework in the field of digitalization, and the strengthening of partnerships with European countries such as Finland, France, and the Baltic states.
Minister Shermatov emphasized the active growth of relations with European nations and the expansion of partnerships with companies from Japan, South Korea, China, and Saudi Arabia. Particular attention is being given to attracting leading international IT companies to IT Park Uzbekistan.
The discussion also covered job creation for young people, expanding opportunities in the IT sector, and broadening the geography of IT service exports. The parties exchanged views on attracting Finnish companies, developing investment partnerships, and effectively leveraging the potential of the Finnish Embassy in these initiatives.
