Uzbekistan’s Minister of Agriculture Discusses Sugar Production Investments with Orascom

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Minister of Agriculture, Ibrohim Abdurakhmonov, held a working meeting with Emad Farid, Executive Director of one of Egypt’s largest investment companies, Orascom Investment (Nile Sugar).

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current status and prospects of one of Uzbekistan’s key agro-investment projects: the program for cultivating sugar beet and producing sugar.

Particular attention was given to the effective organization of agricultural processes, deep processing of sugar beet, and ensuring a complete production cycle.

The participants reviewed work already completed and identified specific tasks to be implemented in the next phases of the project to achieve its goals on time and efficiently.

The discussion also covered the accelerated launch of production capacities, the introduction of modern technologies, and the intensification of project implementation. The importance of clear coordination and adherence to the timeline for all project stages was emphasized.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue developing bilateral cooperation and steadily implement the project according to established plans, with all subsequent work carried out according to a clearly defined schedule.
