Uzbekistan’s MFA Urges Citizens to Seek Help After Insult in Russia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A video circulated on social media showing a man in Khimki, Russia, insulting an Uzbek citizen by calling him a “slave of the Russians.”

The conflict occurred when a passerby approached a parked car that blocked access to a residential courtyard and began arguing with the driver. The Uzbek citizen, who was insulted, did not engage in the dispute, got into his car, and left the scene.

Witnesses reported that the incident arose because a taxi temporarily blocked the entrance to the courtyard while waiting for a garbage truck to pass along a narrow road.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan emphasized that the country’s citizens are protected by the state regardless of their location.

“Protecting our citizens abroad is a key aspect of state policy and is carried out based on the state’s obligations to its citizens,” the ministry stated.

Citizens are advised that if their rights, freedoms, lawful interests, or dignity are violated abroad, they should immediately contact local law enforcement authorities and also reach out to Uzbekistan’s diplomatic or consular offices for legal and consular assistance.
