Uzbekistan’s Investment Minister Discusses Expansion of Investment Cooperation with BlackRock

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 26 January, the Minister of Investments, Industry, and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, held a working meeting with Eric Varvel, Global Head of Capital Raising and member of the Executive Committee at GIP, part of the BlackRock group.

During the discussions, the parties exchanged views on key issues related to the development of investment cooperation and the expansion of engagement with leading international financial and investment institutions.

Particular attention was given to priority areas for attracting long-term capital into Uzbekistan’s economy, including the implementation of major projects in industry, energy, infrastructure, and sustainable development. The parties noted strong interest in supporting initiatives aimed at modernizing production capacities, introducing advanced technologies, and enhancing the country’s investment attractiveness.

The discussions also covered prospects for expanding partnerships with global institutional investors, developing project financing mechanisms, and creating a favorable and predictable investment environment for both domestic and foreign investors.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides confirmed their mutual interest in continuing constructive dialogue and deepening practical cooperation in promising areas of collaboration.
