Uzbekistan’s Interior Academy Explores Cooperation with EU-ACT

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A meeting was held at Uzbekistan’s Interior Ministry Academy with Kaspars Valpeteris, Regional Coordinator of the European Union’s EU-ACT program in Central Asia.

The EU-ACT program focuses on combating terrorism, extremism, transnational crime, and illicit drug trafficking, while also enhancing the capacity of law enforcement agencies and introducing advanced practices into operational work.

During the meeting, participants exchanged views on current areas of cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union. They emphasized the importance of the program in sharing best practices, strengthening personnel capacity, and organizing joint initiatives in the future.

The discussion highlighted the need to expand bilateral engagement, implement regional initiatives in combating transnational crime, and modernize educational processes to address current challenges and trends.

On the same day, the guests were presented with the activities of the Interior Ministry Academy, showcasing the institution’s capabilities and its contribution to training specialists for Uzbekistan’s law enforcement system.
