Uzbekistan’s Insurance Market Grows 37.8% in 2025

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In 2025, total insurance premiums in Uzbekistan reached 13.46 trillion soums, marking a 37.8% increase from the previous year, according to the National Agency for Advanced Projects.

General insurance dominated the market with premiums of 12.88 trillion soums (+35.8%), while life insurance showed faster growth, rising 104.8% to 586.48 billion soums. Total insurance payouts reached 2.98 trillion soums, up 35.4%, with general insurance accounting for 2.84 trillion (+37.2%) and life insurance increasing moderately to 140.46 billion soums (+6.9%).

As of early 2026, insurers’ total liabilities reached 3.81 quadrillion soums (+41.1%), with investments growing 46% to 9.55 trillion soums. Deposits remain the largest component at 6.03 trillion soums (+31.7%), while real estate investments surged 266.1% to 1.65 trillion (17.4% of total), and securities accounted for 1.39 trillion soums (14.6%).

The country hosts 36 insurance companies, including seven life insurers. Top general insurance companies by net premiums were APEX INSURANCE (1.61 trillion soums, +38.6%), MY-INSURANCE (723.73 billion, +68.5%), and GROSS SUG’URTA (629.08 billion, +41.1%). Leading life insurers included APEX LIFE INSURANCE (367.61 billion, +102.7%), TBC SUG‘URTA (71.13 billion), and ALFA LIFE INSURANCE (41.32 billion, +59%).

APEX INSURANCE led payouts with 869.49 billion soums (+25.2%), followed by MY-INSURANCE at 245.32 billion (+48%) and GROSS SUG’URTA at 219.25 billion (+100%). In life insurance, APEX LIFE INSURANCE paid 104.77 billion (+45.1%), ALFA LIFE INSURANCE 18.1 billion (-11.4%), and O’ZBEKINVEST HAYOT 10.13 billion (-49.4%).

The total number of active insurance contracts exceeded 13 million (+24.5%), including 12.08 million new contracts. Mandatory motor third-party liability insurance (OSAGO) accounted for 6.14 million new policies, while property insurance against fire and natural disasters recorded the highest growth at +760%.
