Uzbekistan’s “Green” Power Plants Generate 10 Billion kWh of Electricity

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In 2025, Uzbekistan’s solar and wind power plants produced 10 billion kWh of electricity.

This milestone was reached by 5:00 p.m. on December 8, according to relevant energy sector authorities.

In his speech on December 5 at the conference “Sustainable Energy – a Reliable Step of the New Uzbekistan into the Future”, the President emphasized that one of the country’s key priorities remains ensuring energy supply to consumers through modern, environmentally friendly, and renewable sources.

Currently, the country operates solar and wind power plants with a total installed capacity of 5,582 MW.

According to official estimates, the use of “green” generation has saved 2.7 billion cubic meters of natural gas and prevented the emission of 4.4 million tons of harmful gases into the atmosphere.

From the beginning of the year until 5:00 p.m. on December 8, the total electricity generation from all hydro, solar, and wind plants in Uzbekistan reached 16 billion kWh.

This volume is comparable to the annual consumption of approximately 6.6 million households.
