Uzbekistan’s GDP Grows by 7.6% in January–September 2025

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s economy demonstrated accelerated growth in gross domestic product (GDP) during January–September 2025, reaching 7.6% compared to 6.6% over the same period in 2024, according to data published by the national statistics agency (Uzstat) in Tashkent.

The acceleration in economic growth is occurring against the backdrop of declining inflation. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for September 2025 stood at 5.1% relative to December of the previous year, lower than the 6.8% recorded during the same period in 2024.

The construction sector emerged as one of the growth leaders, increasing by 11.0% compared to 3.9% in the corresponding period of 2024. The physical volume index of industrial production grew by 7.0%, slightly exceeding the 6.8% recorded in 2024. Retail turnover rose by 9.2%, also surpassing last year’s growth of 5.9% over the same period.

In the transport sector, passenger traffic increased by 5.8%, while freight turnover grew by 1.6%.

As of 1 October 2025, Uzbekistan’s permanent population reached 38,069.1 thousand people, compared to 37,355.4 thousand on the same date in 2024.
