Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Preliminary data from the National Statistics Committee indicate that Uzbekistan’s gross domestic product (GDP) in current prices reached 1,303.7 trillion soums in January–September 2025, reflecting a real growth of 7.6% compared to the same period in 2024.
The GDP deflator, relative to prices in January–September 2024, was 112.2%. The highest deflator values were recorded in industry (113.3%) and other services (115.2%), while construction (105.9%) and agriculture, forestry, and fisheries (106.3%) were below the national average.
Economic growth was driven by positive performance across key sectors. Gross value added (GVA) from all sectors accounted for 95.1% of GDP and increased by 7.7% (contributing 7.3 percentage points to GDP growth). Net taxes on products made up 4.9% of GDP and grew by 6.9% (contributing 0.3 percentage points).
Sectoral shares in GDP showed minor shifts compared with January–September 2024: services rose from 48.1% to 49.4%, industry from 25.9% to 26.1%, construction from 7.4% to 7.5%, while agriculture, forestry, and fisheries declined from 18.6% to 17.0%.
In industry, GVA reached 323,805.7 billion soums, up 6.8% year-on-year, mainly due to growth in manufacturing (+7.5%) and water supply, sewage, waste collection, and disposal (+8.0%).
Construction GVA totaled 92,873.0 billion soums, increasing by 14.2% compared to January–September 2024. Building construction grew 5.9%, civil facilities 29.4%, and specialized construction works 57.6%.
Services generated GVA of 612,179.6 billion soums, up 8.7% year-on-year. Within services, trade grew 12.8%, accommodation and food services 8.4%, transport and storage 11.5%, information and communications 21.1%, and other services 6.4%. Retail trade (excluding vehicles) accounted for 54.4% of trade GVA, wholesale trade (excluding vehicles) 32.0%, and vehicle trade and repair 13.6%.
Transport and storage contributed 5.6% of GDP, with automotive transport making up 55.8% of the sector’s GVA, pipelines 10.8%, rail 7.4%, auxiliary transport activities 17.6%, and air transport 8.4%.
GDP per capita reached 34,483.9 thousand soums, a 5.6% increase in real terms over the same period in 2024 (29,124.8 thousand soums, +4.4%).
Information and communication technology (ICT) services accounted for 2.6% of GDP, including communications (35.1%), programming and IT services (43.2%), data hosting and processing, web portals (12.3%), software production (6.2%), and computer and communication equipment repair (3.2%).
Small businesses generated 638,221.7 billion soums of GVA, or 51.5% of the economy’s total. Within small business, agriculture accounted for 32.0%, industry 13.4%, construction 11.3%, and services 43.3%. Sectoral contributions of small businesses were: agriculture 96.9%, construction 77.6%, services 45.1%, industry 26.4%.
The GVA of the unobserved economy (household and informal activities) totaled 433,679.8 billion soums, representing 33.3% of GDP. Household and individual activities contributed 333,823.2 billion soums (25.6%), while the shadow economy contributed 99,856.6 billion soums (7.7%). The sectoral structure of household and informal activities was 69.4% agriculture, 36.2% services, 35.0% construction, and 10.2% industry.
