Uzbekistan’s fruit and vegetable exports reach US$1.5 billion in 2024
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In 2024, Uzbekistan exported 2 million tons of fruits and vegetables, generating US$1.5 billion in revenue, according to the Statistics Agency.
The main export destinations were the CIS countries, as well as nations in Asia and the Middle East.
Russia remains the leading importer, receiving 815.1 thousand tons of products worth US$632.9 million. This confirms the status of the Russian market as key for Uzbek producers.
Kazakhstan ranked second, importing 520.5 thousand tons of fruits and vegetables valued at US$189.8 million. This has traditionally been an important market for Uzbek exports, due to geographical proximity and strong demand.
Kyrgyzstan came in third among the largest partners, receiving 151.7 thousand tons of products worth US$57.9 million.
A significant volume of Uzbek fruits and vegetables was also sent to China — 144.6 thousand tons, generating US$128.6 million. This indicates growing interest in Uzbek products from the Chinese market.
Pakistan emerged as another major importer, purchasing 124.7 thousand tons valued at US$192.3 million.
Afghanistan imported 67.6 thousand tons of fruits and vegetables worth US$124.4 million. Iraq bought 32.9 thousand tons for US$13.4 million, while Turkey imported 28.2 thousand tons valued at US$48.3 million.
Belarus has become another important export destination, with 22.6 thousand tons worth US$20.3 million. Additionally, other countries received 128.5 thousand tons of products, generating US$141.7 million.
