Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In January–September 2025, Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover (FTT) amounted to US$59.8 billion, increasing by US$11.14 billion, or 22.9%, compared to the same period in 2024, according to the National Statistics Committee.
Exports reached US$26.68 billion, a 33.3% increase, while imports totaled US$33.11 billion, up 15.6% year-on-year. As a result, the trade deficit stood at US$6.43 billion.
Uzbekistan maintained trade relations with 206 countries worldwide. The largest FTT volumes were recorded with China (19.1%), Russia (15.7%), Kazakhstan (5.8%), Türkiye (3.6%), and the Republic of Korea (2.2%).
Goods accounted for 74.7% of exports, including industrial products (10.7%), food and live animals (7.7%), chemicals and related products (5.7%), and various finished goods (4.7%).
The main export partners during the period were Russia (12.2%), China (5.2%), Kazakhstan (4.0%), Afghanistan (3.8%), Türkiye (3.1%), France (2.6%), UAE (2.1%), Kyrgyz Republic (1.6%), Tajikistan (1.5%), and Pakistan (1.1%) — together accounting for 37.2% of total exports.
Uzbekistan exported 1.61 million tonnes of fruits and vegetables, an increase of 7.5% (or 111,500 tonnes) compared to the same period in 2024. The export value reached US$1.45 billion, up 39.3%, representing 5.5% of total exports.
Textile exports totaled US$1.85 billion, accounting for 6.9% of total exports, but decreased by 16.6% year-on-year. Ready-made textile goods made up 50.8% of textile exports, and yarn — 29.0%.
Exports of services amounted to US$6.76 billion (25.3% of total exports), up 31.6%. The main service exports were travel (tourism) (52.9%), transport (31.7%), telecommunications, computer and information services (7.3%), and other business services (3.2%).
Imports reached US$33.11 billion, a 15.6% increase. Machinery and transport equipment accounted for 33.9%, industrial goods — 15.9%, and chemicals — 12.3% of total imports.
Goods imports grew by US$3.53 billion to US$29.47 billion, while service imports amounted to US$3.65 billion.
Uzbekistan imported goods and services from 175 countries, with over two-thirds of imports coming from China (30.3%), Russia (18.6%), Kazakhstan (7.3%), Türkiye (4.0%), Republic of Korea (3.8%), Germany (2.6%), and India (2.5%).
Imports of services totaled US$3.65 billion (11.0% of total imports), up 34.9% year-on-year. The main service import categories were travel (51.1%), transport (20.3%), telecommunications, computer and information services (10.6%), other business services (6.6%), and others (11.3%).
