Uzbekistan’s Foreign Trade Turnover Reaches US$44.4 Billion

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From January to July 2025, Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover (FTT) amounted to US$44.4 billion, increasing by US$7.3764 billion, or 19.9%, compared to the same period in 2024, according to the National Statistics Committee.

Of the total turnover, exports reached US$20.1089 billion, reflecting a 34.9% increase compared to January–July 2024, while imports amounted to US$24.2923 billion, up 9.9%. As a result, the trade balance recorded a deficit of US$4.1835 billion.

Uzbekistan maintains trade relations with 197 countries. The largest shares of foreign trade turnover were with China (18.2%), Russia (16.1%), Kazakhstan (5.9%), Turkey (3.6%), and South Korea (2.2%).

In the export structure, goods accounted for 75.9%, including industrial products at 11.1%, food products and live animals at 7.5%, chemicals and related products at 5.8%, and various finished goods at 4.4%.

Uzbekistan’s main export partners in goods and services during January–July 2025 were Russia (12.3%), China (5.5%), Kazakhstan (4.0%), Afghanistan (3.7%), Turkey (3.0%), France (2.6%), UAE (1.8%), Kyrgyzstan (1.6%), Tajikistan (1.4%), and Pakistan (1.2%), together accounting for 37.0% of total exports.

During the period, 1,277.7 thousand tons of fruits and vegetables were exported, an increase of 5.2% (62.9 thousand tons) compared to the same period in 2024. The export value of these products reached US$1.0668 billion, up 35.2%, representing 5.3% of total exports.

Textile exports for January–July 2025 amounted to US$1.471 billion, accounting for 7.3% of total exports, but decreasing by 17.1% compared to the same period in 2024. Within textile exports, ready-made textile products comprised 49.0% and yarn 31.0%.

Exports of services totaled US$4.8469 billion, or 24.1% of total trade exports, rising 30.2% compared to the same period in 2024. Major components of service exports included travel (tourism) at 52.5%, transport services at 32.8%, telecommunications, computer, and information services at 8.5%, and other business services at 2.9%. Among other services (3.3%), insurance and pension services accounted for 1.1%, and financial services 0.9%.

Imports during January–July 2025 totaled US$24.2923 billion, a 9.9% increase from the same period in 2024. The largest shares of imports were machinery and transport equipment (33.3%), industrial products (16.0%), and chemicals and related products (12.8%).

Analysis of import dynamics shows that compared to January–July 2024, goods imports increased by US$1.5692 billion to US$21.7788 billion, while service imports reached US$2.5135 billion.

Overall, Uzbekistan imported goods and services from 163 countries during January–July 2025. More than two-thirds of imports came from major partner countries, including China (28.7%), Russia (19.3%), Kazakhstan (7.6%), Turkey (4.1%), South Korea (3.9%), Germany (2.8%), and India (2.6%).

Service imports amounted to US$2.5135 billion, or 10.3% of total imports, increasing 32.1% compared to the same period in 2024. Within service imports, the main components were travel (tourism) at 55.9%, transport services at 18.5%, telecommunications, computer, and information services at 10.2%, other business services at 5.3%, and other services at 10.1%.
