Uzbekistan’s Foreign Ministry Clarifies Situation Regarding Citizens Sentenced in Dubai

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan has issued an official statement in response to media and social network reports regarding the conviction of Uzbek citizens in Dubai.

According to the Ministry, the incident occurred in April 2025 and involved a mass brawl with the participation of eight Uzbek citizens.

On 21 January, the Dubai court delivered sentences: all eight participants received life imprisonment, while another citizen was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

The Ministry emphasized that Uzbekistan’s diplomatic missions and relevant authorities are taking all necessary measures to thoroughly examine the situation and ensure the protection of the rights of its citizens.
