Uzbekistan’s Customs Revenues Reach 34 Trillion Soums in First Half of 2025

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The State Customs Committee of Uzbekistan held a board meeting to review the performance of the customs system for the first half of 2025, according to committee spokesperson Khusan Tangriyev.

According to the presented data, the volume of foreign trade operations increased by 5% year-on-year from January to June, exports rose by 7%, and the number of processed cargo customs declarations grew by 12%. The number of trucks crossing the customs border increased by 165,000, while railcars rose by 376,000. Passenger traffic at border checkpoints reached 3.3 million people.

More than 11,000 entrepreneurs received exemptions and preferences totaling 24.6 trillion soums. Deferred customs payments amounted to 2.8 trillion soums. A total of 34 trillion soums was transferred to the state budget, ensuring the fulfillment of projected revenue targets.

Customs officers detected more than 19,000 cases of smuggling and violations of customs regulations. Attempts to illegally transport material assets worth 564 billion soums were thwarted, including cases of their concealed circulation within the country. The volume of seized foreign currency tripled compared to the same period last year, while the confiscation of jewelry nearly doubled. Over the six-month period, 1,247 kilograms of narcotics and 156 kilograms of psychotropic and potent substances were confiscated.

Thanks to digitalization, 94% of export declarations and 84% of import declarations were processed under simplified procedures. Of these, 51% of export and 16% of import operations were completed without human intervention. As a result, more than 26,600 entrepreneurs saved time and resources.

In concluding the meeting, Customs Committee Chairman Akmalkhuja Mavlonov instructed officials to intensify the implementation of digital solutions and artificial intelligence, as well as to strengthen international cooperation in combating illicit financial flows and shadow trade.
