Uzbekistan’s Criminal Courts reviewed 613,142 administrative offense cases in 2024

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In 2024, Uzbekistan’s criminal courts reviewed 613,142 cases of administrative offenses involving 740,994 individuals, according to the press service of the Supreme Court.

Administrative penalties were imposed on 469,568 individuals, while 94,886 people were released from liability due to reconciliation between the parties.

The majority of cases involved petty hooliganism, illegal passenger transportation without a license, failure to comply with lawful demands of law enforcement officers, insults, violations of electricity, heating, and gas usage rules, as well as traffic violations resulting in minor injuries or significant material damage.

Additionally, courts handled cases related to violations in trade and service sectors, public alcohol consumption, driving under the influence, and illegal possession of bladed weapons or similar objects.

Special attention was given to cases involving traffic accidents that led to minor injuries or significant property damage. Courts reviewed 39,270 such cases involving 40,119 individuals. As a result, 26,063 people faced fines or had their driving licenses revoked.

Furthermore, 8,297 cases involving 9,899 individuals were reviewed in appeal proceedings throughout the year. Following the reexamination, 2,581 first-instance court decisions were overturned, while 2,945 rulings were modified.
