Uzbekistan’s Chamber of Commerce and ICCD discuss halal industry and islamic finance development
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Within the framework of the Makkah Halal Forum 2025, a bilateral meeting was held between the First Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, Davron Kurbanov, and the Secretary-General of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD), Yousef Khalawi.
The discussions focused on deepening cooperation between Uzbekistan and the ICCD, strengthening trade and economic ties with Islamic countries, and effectively utilizing the Chamber’s potential to expand collaboration.
Yousef Khalawi provided an overview of ICCD’s current activities, key initiatives, and strategic plans aimed at enhancing economic partnerships among Islamic nations. The Uzbek side, in turn, presented information on the country’s investment attractiveness, export potential, and ongoing reforms to improve the business environment.
The parties explored opportunities for increasing bilateral trade, advancing the halal industry, and expanding cooperation in the field of Islamic finance.
As a result of the negotiations, agreements were reached on signing a memorandum of cooperation between Uzbekistan and ICCD, organizing joint business forums and trade missions, and implementing programs for experience exchange and professional development.
