Uzbekistan’s Agricultural Sector Output Reaches Nearly 539 Trillion Soums in 2025

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In 2025, Uzbekistan’s agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sectors showed steady growth, with the total value of produced goods and services reaching 538,919.7 billion soums.

According to the State Committee on Statistics, the bulk of this output — 518,822.7 billion soums — came from crop production, livestock farming, hunting, and related services. Forestry produced goods worth 15,081.5 billion soums, while fisheries contributed 5,015.5 billion soums.

By growth rates, the leaders were Syrdarya (106.9%), Ferghana (105.6%), Khorezm (104.9%), Karakalpakstan Republic (104.9%), Andijan (104.7%), and Navoi (104.7%) regions. More moderate growth was recorded in Samarkand (103.3%), Surkhandarya (103.8%), Tashkent (104.2%), and Kashkadarya (104.3%) regions.

The volume of agricultural production in 2025 reached 508,711.1 billion soums, up 4.4% compared to 2024. Crop production amounted to 243,007.7 billion soums (up 7.2%), while livestock farming reached 265,703.4 billion soums (up 1.6%). The largest output was registered in Samarkand (57,963.3 billion soums), Andijan (50,263.3 billion soums), Kashkadarya (49,950.0 billion soums), and Tashkent (48,794.1 billion soums), whereas Syrdarya (17,263.2 billion soums), Karakalpakstan Republic (19,932.0 billion soums), and Navoi (23,574.3 billion soums) showed lower levels.

By type of farm, dehkan and household farms contributed the largest share of output (62.3%), followed by farmer enterprises (29.4%) and agricultural organizations (8.3%). Grain production was mainly provided by farmer enterprises (75.7%), while dehkan and household farms accounted for 12.7%, and organizations 11.6%. Dehkan farms led in potato and vegetable production, whereas farmer enterprises dominated in melons and gourds. Fruit, berry, and grape production was almost evenly split between farmers and dehkan farms.

Livestock output reached 265,703.4 billion soums (up 1.6%). The largest producing regions were Kashkadarya (31,655.4 billion soums), Samarkand (29,797.9 billion soums), Bukhara (25,833.9 billion soums), Tashkent (25,654.2 billion soums), and Jizzakh (21,429.6 billion soums). The lowest outputs were in Syrdarya (7,489.8 billion soums), Karakalpakstan Republic (10,961.9 billion soums), and Navoi (16,256.3 billion soums).

Production growth rates were: meat 101.5%, milk 101.2%, eggs 107.0%, wool 104.1%, karakul pelts 104.4%, and fish catch 103.4%. Dehkan farms accounted for the largest share of meat and milk production (81.3% and 90.6% respectively), while farmers and organizations contributed smaller portions. Production of eggs, wool, and karakul pelts followed a similar distribution, with the largest share of fish production held by farmer enterprises (56.6%).

As of January 1, 2026, livestock numbers were: cattle 14,522.8 thousand heads (+0.9%), cows 5,154.4 thousand (+0.3%), sheep and goats 24,970.2 thousand (+1.4%), horses 299.6 thousand (+5.9%), and poultry 118,652.6 thousand (+10.6%). Dehkan and household farms maintained the predominant share of cattle, cows, and sheep, while farmers and organizations held smaller portions. For horses and poultry, the distribution was somewhat more balanced, but dehkan farms remained dominant.

Overall, in 2025, Uzbekistan’s agriculture, forestry, and fisheries sectors demonstrated growth, active participation from various types of farms, and reinforced the country’s food security and economic resilience.
