Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A team of Uzbekistan took the third place in the team standings of the International Army Games, MIR 24 TV channel reported. The team’s performance was highly appreciated by the Minister of Defense of Uzbekistan, Major General Bakhodir Kurbanov.

The 2020 Games were attended by servicemen from 32 countries, who competed in 5 countries in 30 competitive disciplines.

“The team of Uzbekistan this year participated in 16 competitions and won prizes in 14 of them. The team showed a good result, taking the third place in the team event after Russia and Belarus,” the minister said.

The minister noted that the military personnel of Uzbekistan still have something to strive for and in which to improve. According to him, the Army Games provide a useful opportunity for the military of all participating countries to demonstrate their skills and unity, as well as improve their professionalism. Kurbanov thanked Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu for the invitation to Army-2020.
