Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan’s Hydrometeorological Service (Uzhydromet) has issued an urgent warning regarding expected precipitation between 14 and 17 April.

According to the agency, mudflows may occur in foothill and mountainous areas across the country.

The warning covers parts of Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, Samarkand, Navoi, Jizzakh, Tashkent, Namangan, Fergana, and Andijan regions. Affected districts include Yakkabag, Dekhkanabad, Sariosiyo, Urgut, Khatyrchi, Zomin, Bostanlyk, Pap, and Sokh, as well as the city of Angren, Almalyk, and Khanabad.

Authorities warned that heavy rainfall could trigger mudflows, as well as surface water accumulation and localized flooding in certain areas.

Residents of mountainous and foothill regions, as well as travelers and drivers heading to these areas, are advised to take necessary precautions.

Uzhydromet emphasized that the warning is preventive and based on forecasted weather conditions for the specified period.
