Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Parliamentary diplomacy plays an important role in strengthening international relations and pursuing a constructive foreign policy. On 1 April 2021, the first online meeting of the Uzbekistan-UAE Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group was held in the lower house of parliament.
During the talks, it was noted that the United Arab Emirates is a reliable partner of Uzbekistan in foreign policy. Bilateral diplomatic relations were established on 25 October 1992. In recent years, economic, cultural and inter-parliamentary ties have been developing even more. In turn, the Head of the Interparliamentary Friendship Committee between Uzbekistan and the UAE Mrs. Nidal Muhammad Ahmat al-Tunaiji said that the UAE side will continue its efforts in accordance with the agreements signed between the two countries on the development of inter-parliamentary relations.
Following the meeting, the parties reached an agreement on the further development of friendly relations and exchange of views.
