The delegation of Uzbekistan led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdujabar Abduvakhitov together, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Vepa Hadjiyev analyzed the current state and prospects for further development of bilateral cooperation in political, trade, economic, humanitarian, cultural and other fields.
The sides paid special attention to discussion of the draft program and the agenda of the forthcoming state visit of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov to Uzbekistan.
It was emphasized that both countries are carefully preparing for the forthcoming Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan summit, which should become a landmark event in bilateral relations, bring friendly ties between the two countries and people to a qualitatively new level.
At the meeting, the Uzbek and Turkmen sides also discussed issues of cooperation within the framework of multilateral organizations, exchanged views on international and regional issues.
