Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan are intensifying cooperation between their capital cities, Tashkent and Ashgabat, as part of broader efforts to strengthen bilateral relations.

The issue was discussed during a meeting between Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Ravshanbek Alimov and Ashgabat Mayor Rahim Gandimov, according to the Dunyo news agency.

Both sides noted that Uzbek-Turkmen relations continue to develop steadily across all sectors, while cooperation between the two capitals is gaining momentum.

The discussions focused on implementing the sister-city agreement, expanding trade and economic ties, increasing exchanges of delegations, jointly advancing investment projects, and boosting cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

Particular attention was given to the “Tashkent” park in Ashgabat and the “Ashgabat” park in Tashkent, which symbolize the friendship between the two nations.

The parties also reviewed proposals for organizing cultural and educational events linked to important national dates and confirmed their interest in enhancing mutual participation in international forums and events.
