Uzbekistan, TOMRA Explore Circular Economy Cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan has discussed prospects for cooperation with Norway’s TOMRA Systems ASA in advancing circular economy initiatives, according to the Dunyo news agency.
Representatives of Uzbekistan’s Embassy in Sweden held an online meeting with Thomas Morgenstern, Vice President of TOMRA Systems ASA.
The talks focused on potential collaboration under the “Uzbekistan–2030” strategy, particularly in developing projects for waste collection and recycling in partnership with the country’s Agency for Waste Management and Circular Economy Development.
Special attention was given to attracting Norwegian grants to support environmental initiatives.
The parties also agreed on preliminary steps for the participation of TOMRA’s leadership in the Tashkent International Investment Forum, scheduled for June 2026, as well as a potential visit by Uzbek representatives to Norway.
