Uzbekistan to strengthen security measures ahead of holidays

Ministry of Interior Affairs of Uzbekistan is realizing a plan of measures on ensuring peace and security during New Year Holidays, the head of department of protection of human rights and legal support of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Uzbekistan Ilhom Turgunov told UzA.
He said that explanation events directed at calling for vigilance and caution at the mahallas and enterprises.
Uzbek officer said that special attention is paid to ensure public order, road and fire safety, prevention of emergency situations.
He noted that special attention is paid to each objects, especially to places, which will host celebration events. The special raids conducted to prevent various situations and ensure security of population.
He said that over 7 million objects were reviewed within special operation and several criminals were arrested he said.
Cars are examined at road-patrol service posts. He added that technical examinations of public transport were also conducted. The measures adopted to prevent import and sales of pyrotechnic products.
