Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov held an expanded meeting of the Special Republican Commission on Combating Coronavirus on 17 April.
Deputy Minister of Health, Head of the Sanitary and Epidemiological Wellbeing and Public Health Service Bakhodir Yusupaliev said that 40-50 thousand people are vaccinated against coronavirus in Uzbekistan each day. According to him, from 1 to 16 April, 369.9 thousand people were vaccinated in Uzbekistan.
Abdulla Aripov noted that by the end of April Uzbekistan will receive the Russian Sputnik V vaccine. The volume of the first delivery of Sputnik V will amount to 300 thousand doses.
“According to our strategy, we initially planned three vaccines. By the end of the month, delivery of another 1 million doses of the Chinese vaccine is expected,” added the head of the Government of Uzbekistan. He noted that all issues with the purchase of the vaccine and delivery have been resolved.
The head of government noted that Uzbekistan will receive the next batch of AstraZeneca vaccine in May. It should be noted that Uzbekistan received a generic AstraZeneca - Covishield from India in March.
