Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan will receive another batch of coronavirus vaccines by the end of October. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan.
As part of the global COVAX mechanism, Uzbekistan will receive 800,000 doses of the German Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine.
Another 1.7 million doses of Chinese Sinovac will be delivered to Uzbekistan by the end of the month.
By the end of the year, Uzbekistan is expected to receive 47 million doses of coronavirus vaccines. This will make it possible to fully vaccinate more than 17.4 million people.
Uzbekistan plans to produce 15.5 million doses of the ZF-UZ-VAC2001 vaccine and 633 thousand doses of the two components of the Sputnik V vaccine.
To date, about 28.7 million doses of coronavirus vaccines have been delivered to Uzbekistan.
