Uzbekistan to Purchase US$300 Million in Agricultural Machinery from John Deere
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan will acquire agricultural machinery from the U.S. company John Deere, according to the U.S. Department of Commerce.
The contract was signed during a ceremony concluding a series of bilateral agreements following a roundtable attended by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard L. Latnik.
The agreement covers the supply of agricultural equipment worth US$300 million.
According to the U.S. Department of Commerce, half of this amount — US$150 million — will be allocated for the purchase of cotton harvesting machinery manufactured at John Deere’s Des Moines Works plant in Ankeny, Iowa.
