Uzbekistan to Provide Free Digital Signatures with ID Cards

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Starting from 1 February, Uzbek citizens receiving a national passport (ID card) for the first time will be provided with a free electronic digital signature certificate. Additionally, they will be automatically registered at no cost in the Unified User Identification System of the “e-Government” platform.

These measures were developed jointly by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Digital Technologies, the State Tax Committee, and the Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction, and were approved by a presidential decree signed by Shavkat Mirziyoyev on 19 January.

The initiative aims to enhance the efficiency of migration and personal identification services, while further advancing the digitalization of public services in Uzbekistan.
