Uzbekistan to mark Islam Karimov Remembrance Day on 2 September
According to the resolution, 2 September, day of death of Islam Karimov, will be marked in Uzbekistan as the Day of Remembrance of Islam Karimov.
The document said that 30 January will be marked as the birthday of Islam Karimov.
Uzbek leader ordered to create a memorial complex in Samarkand in the territory, where tomb of Islam Karimov located.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev also ordered to erect monuments to the First President of Uzbekistan in Tashkent, Samarkand and Qarshi.
Scientific-educational memorial complex named after Islam Karimov will be create at the Oqsaroy residence in Tashkent. Republican charity public fund named after Islam Karimov will also operate here.
According to the resolution, the museum of Islam Karimov will be opened in Samarkand city.
The document said that Tashkent State Technical University, automobile plant in Asaka, Palace of Art in Ferghana and Tashkent International Airport will be named after Islam Karimov.
Several streets in Karakalpakstan, Tashkent and regions will be named in honour of Islam Karimov, the resolution underlined.
Uzbek leader also ordered to establish a scholarship named after Islam Karimov for students of higher educational institutions and to issue a postal stamp with a portrait of Islam Karimov.
