Uzbekistan to mark 100th anniversary of Sharaf Rashidov

Uzbek leader approved a proposal on wide celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Sharof Rashidov in Uzbekistan.

The resolution said that Jizzakh district of Jizzakh region was renamed in honour of Sharof Rashidov.

Uzbek leader created a committee on organization of the celebrations. The committee will develop a special celebration plan.

In particular, the memorial complex of Sharaf Rashidov was created in Sharaf-Rashidov district of Jizzakh region. The monument of Rashidov will be erected there.

It is also planned to publish a book about Sharaf Rashidov and shot a documentary film about his life and works.

In the first decade of November 2017, it is planned to organize the special events dedicated to Rashidov in Tashkent and Jizzakh cities.
