Uzbekistan to launch the "Step Toward Active Life" program
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A Presidential Resolution "On Measures to Expand the Provision of Social Services to Individuals Requiring Continuous Care" has been adopted in Uzbekistan.
The document outlines the launch of a new program called "Step Toward Active Life," which will begin on 1 June 2025.
The program is aimed at supporting elderly citizens who need constant care and assistance.
As part of this initiative, a range of new social services will be introduced, covering five main areas:
Social and household assistance at home
Home care
Medical and social rehabilitation
Daytime supervision
Personal assistant services
Some of the costs associated with receiving these services will be reimbursed to citizens through a voucher system. The value of these vouchers will be covered through subsidies, the amount of which will be determined by the Government.
The issuance of vouchers and payment for the respective social services will be organized through the "Family Partner" platform, integrated into the "Unified National Social Protection" information system.
