Uzbekistan to Launch High-Tech Manufacturing in Chuvashia
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — An Uzbek enterprise plans to launch high-tech production for the power industry within the “Novocheboksarsk” special economic zone in Chuvashia.
According to Chuvashia’s head Oleg Nikolaev on his Telegram channel, the investment volume will amount to 588 million rubles.
“Our Uzbek partner — the joint-stock company ‘Uzmakhususuvtamirta’minot’ — will become a resident of the Novocheboksarsk SEZ. High-tech production for the power sector will be organized within the framework of the ‘Cheboksary Electromechanical Plant’ enterprise,” Nikolaev wrote.
The relevant tripartite agreement was signed during the II Russia–Uzbekistan Regional Council. The 588 million ruble investment, financed entirely by the company, aims to leverage Chuvashia’s strengths in electromechanical engineering and localize the production of hydro- and turbogenerators, industrial pumps, power electric motors, low-voltage devices, and transformers up to 10 MVA.
The project includes the construction of a 9,000-square-meter administrative and production complex.
Around 50 jobs will be created at the new facility. The enterprise’s products will be used in energy, chemical and oil & gas industries, metallurgy, and construction.
