Uzbekistan to Invest Over US$5 Billion in AI Development in Karakalpakstan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan plans to attract over US$5 billion in investments to develop artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

The initiative is outlined in the presidential decree “On the Socio-Economic Development of the Republic of Karakalpakstan in 2026 and the Approval of Programs for the Coming Years.”

According to the document, over the next five years, the region’s capacity for data centers, modular intelligent computing complexes, and cloud computing infrastructure is expected to increase tenfold.

The project aims to establish advanced digital infrastructure and integrate AI technologies into the key sectors of Karakalpakstan’s economy.
