Uzbekistan to introduce the position of investigative judge in criminal courts

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — During the session of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, the draft law aimed at further strengthening guarantees for the reliable protection of personal rights and freedoms in operational-investigative and investigative activities was considered in the second reading.

The draft law proposes the introduction of a separate judicial position — the investigative judge — in district and city criminal courts. This judge will be responsible for issuing sanctions on procedural decisions during the pre-trial phase of criminal cases.

The draft law was approved by deputies in the third reading.
