Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Dushanbe hosted the Second Meeting of the Heads of Ministries and Agencies of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Member States responsible for environmental protection issues.

Prospects for the creation of a special SCO working group, the adoption of an Action Plan for the practical implementation of the Cooperation Concept in the Environmental Protection of SCO Member States for 2022-2024 and other issues on the agenda were discussed at the meeting.

The need for further expansion of cooperation between SCO countries, in particular in the environmental monitoring, protection of biodiversity, natural territories, mitigation of the effects of climate change and other topics, was noted.

An agreement was reached to hold the next meeting of experts and heads of environmental ministries and other agencies of SCO member states in April 2022 in Uzbekistan.
