Uzbekistan to hike electricity prices for population

Uzbekenergo state joint stock company said that new prices for electricity were approved by the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan on 15 March 2012.

According to Uzbekenergo, from 1 April, the cost of 1 kilowatt per hour electricity grows from 91.1 soums to 97.5 soums.

The price for 1 kilowatt per hour electricity for houses, equipped with electric range increases from 45.55 soums to 48.75 soums.

Last time, prices for electricity in Uzbekistan increased on 1 October 2011.
