Uzbekistan to Establish Center for AI and Digital Geology with International Partners
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev reviewed a presentation on the adoption of advanced international practices and expertise in the field of geology.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that a key priority remains the development of the national geological system to a modern scientific and technological standard, expansion of the country’s mineral resource base, and ensuring deep processing of mineral raw materials.
Global experience demonstrates that even in remote areas, new deposits can be identified using artificial intelligence technologies. In this context, special attention is being given to expanding regional geological exploration and applying modern geophysical methods.
As an example, officials presented a project to establish a modern Center of Competence in partnership with international organizations, including the Colorado School of Mines (USA)—one of the world’s leading scientific centers in mining engineering. The Center will integrate research and practical activities aimed at implementing digital solutions, artificial intelligence technologies, and airborne geophysical surveys in geological exploration.
The initiative plans to leverage advanced international experience for digital data analysis, integrate results from geochemical and space-geological research, and accelerate the identification of promising mineral deposits.
The President approved the proposals and issued a series of instructions to organize work in the geological sector, focusing on expanding international cooperation, actively implementing modern technologies, and developing prospective sites.
