Uzbekistan to Establish Automotive Components Cluster in Karakalpakstan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has instructed the creation of a technological cluster for the production of automotive components in the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

This directive is outlined in the decree “On the Socio-Economic Development of the Republic of Karakalpakstan in 2026 and the Approval of Programs for the Coming Years.”

Enterprises within the new cluster will be incorporated into the Nukus Special Economic Zone (SEZ). The cluster’s development includes the provision of external infrastructure financed from the state budget allocated to special industrial zones.

Additionally, the Uzbekistan Reconstruction and Development Fund will provide a US$60.1 million credit line for the supply of equipment to the cluster. The loan term is 10 years, including a three-year grace period, with an annual interest rate of 7%.
