Uzbekistan to Establish Academy of Agricultural Sciences

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a decree “On Measures to Establish the Academy of Agricultural Sciences under the Ministry of Agriculture.”

The Academy will be created on the basis of the National Center for Knowledge and Innovations in Agriculture under the Ministry of Agriculture. It will serve as a state scientific institution conducting fundamental and applied research in agriculture, developing and coordinating long- and short-term scientific programs, and providing research support for the country’s agro-industrial complex.

Within the framework of agricultural and land reform, draft regulatory acts will undergo mandatory scientific expertise at the Academy in coordination with the Ministry of Agriculture.

A system of academic titles will be introduced for staff, including Young Academician, Academy Professor, Corresponding Member, Full Member (Academician), and Foreign Member of the Academy.
