Uzbekistan to discuss implementation of JCI medical accreditation system

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A representative of the Joint Commission International (JCI) Francine Westergaard is visiting Uzbekistan on the initiative of the National Chamber of Innovative Health of Uzbekistan to discuss the possibilities and prospects of introducing the JCI accreditation system in medical institutions in our country.

The agreement on this visit was reached during a working visit in July this year to the United States by the chairman of the National Chamber of Innovative Healthcare R. Izamov.

During his stay in our country, Francine Westergaard will get acquainted with the national health system, give lectures on the JCI accreditation system, and take part in a round table with the participation of leading specialists in the field of health. The main theme of the meetings is to assist in the implementation of the accreditation system according to international JCI standards in medical institutions.

The International Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Medical Facilities is a nonprofit organization based in the United States. Its goal is to stimulate the continuous improvement of the work of medical organizations in the world and their compliance with high internationally agreed requirements.

JCI accreditation is a prestigious international certification in the field of healthcare, which is considered the "gold standard" of quality and is a confirmation of the medical organization’s compliance with internationally accepted medical and administrative standards, as well as the requirements for ensuring international goals for patient safety. To date, more than 800 hospitals are accredited by JCI standards in the world.

JCI’s mission is to provide education, publishing, consultation and evaluation services to improve the safety and quality of care. As practice shows, this affects not only the increase in domestic medical care, but also the growth of medical tourism.
