Uzbekistan to develop leather and footwear industry in Kashkadarya region

Total cost of these projects is US$12.9 million. Five projects on footwear industry will be implemented in Karshi, Dehqononod, Kitob and Nishon districts, a project on manufacturing leather accessories in Kitob district, and a project on manufacturing finished leather at “Karshi leather”.

Implementation of these projects will help to process 1 million astrakhans annually, produce 460,000 pairs of footwear and 100,000 leather accessories a year.

The cost of the project, implemented at Karshi leather, is US$9.1 million. The project will allow to produce high-quality and competitive finished leather products a year and export products for US$45 million annually.
