Uzbekistan to create NGIS in 2017
The National Geographic Information System of Uzbekistan (NGIS) will be formed as part of the electronic government and will provide for the establishment of satellite geodetic network, a unified computerized state cadastre and registration of real estate.
The project with the cost of US$25 million is implemented due to loan of the South Korean Eximbank at the volume of US$15 million. The loan is granted for a period of 40 years, including a ten-year grace period.
The project will create a multi-purpose information system to provide a single national accounting and valuation of complex natural and economic potential of the country and its separate territories, as well as operational support of public authorities, businesses and individuals with necessary cadastral information for their activities.
The tender for the creation of NGIS was won South Korea’s ICT Technologies. The project will be completed in 2017.
