Uzbekistan to create 448 fish farms in 2013

Uzbekistan is planning to create 448 new fish farms in its territory in 2013.
New farms will be created within the programme on development of fishery in Uzbekistan.
Currently, Uzbekistan has 1,375 fish farms, of which 296 are at natural and 1,079 – artificial ponds.
According to the programme, Uzbekistan is planning to catch 21,200 tonnes of fish at artificial and 35,300 tonnes of fish at natural pods. The growth rate makes up 36.3%.
